Things looking up for Lilo!

Last Wednesday, LINDSAY LOHAN was backstage to catch THE WANTED in Philadelphia.  And we heard she was going to hitch a ride on their tour bus to a gig on Boston on Thursday.

After the show, Lindsay checked into Boston's Liberty Hotel with MAX GEORGE - that's the one she likes.

A source says, quote, "They looked like a couple and they were even making out at one point!"

The Wanted played Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday night . . . and after the show, Lindsay was out clubbing with Max.

Max isn't admitting he's in a relationship with Lindsay.  But he did tell E! News that she can, quote, "party nearly as hard as we can."  He also added that The Wanted is, quote, "probably not the best influence, to be honest."

He said, quote, "If we can stay out of trouble and keep her out of trouble this week, then we're obviously outstanding citizens of the community, and we've managed to do both, so I'm quite proud of that."
